Get ‘insiders’ look at a local manufacturers/businesses with exclusive tours

Unique behind the scenes tours of several area manufacturers and businesses will be hosted by the Jefferson Matters Economic Vitality team in 2024.

The first one of these “After Hours: Insider” events is set for Jefferson’s AAI / Spalding facility on Tuesday, April 30, from 5:30 to 7 pm.

AAI / Spalding manufactures basketball goals and gymnastic apparatus which are sent throughout the world and “insiders” will get to experience how this equipment is produced right here in Jefferson. 

“Spring is a special and busy time of year for us at AAI / Spalding,” said Steve Kohl, general manager of AAI / Spalding Equipment, “as there are multiple events going on using our elite equipment made here in Jefferson, Iowa. Events include the NCAA gymnastics and basketball championships, USA Gymnastics regional events, and the NBA playoffs.  Many of these events will also require our professional service and support which is another area in which we excel.”

Those interested in the tour may secure “insider” passes to uncover the secrets and stories behind this local entrepreneurial business, delving into the unseen aspects that make it thrive.

A limited number of “insiders” will be able to participate in this walking tour of the manufacturing floor. Early sign up is encouraged and the deadline is April 23.  Access the registration via the following jotform link:  https://form.jotform.com/240865494730160.  There is cost of $10 per person.

5:30 pm – Enjoy an exclusive insider walking tour of AAI / Spalding in Jefferson in a small group led by an employee. “Insiders” will see behind the scenes where the famous blue AAI gymnastics equipment and the new Spalding basketball hoops are manufactured.

6:30 – 7 pm – Refreshments will be served in the AAI / Spalding gymnasium by The Centennial and CHiRP Coffee. “Insiders” will have a chance to ask more questions of the AAI/Spalding employees and take some photos with equipment.
